Norwegian billionaire is funding a plastic-gathering marine research yacht

Norwegian billionaire Kjell Inge Røkke has profited from offshore drilling. The businessman who started as a fisherman seems to have had a change of heart about the ocean, however, and has now purchased a massive yacht for marine research. Røkke, who’s worth around $2.6 billion, owns almost 67 percent of shipping and offshore drilling conglomerate Aker.
